On any Outside Broadcast, your power systems must be primed to go live at a moment’s notice, with no margin for error once running

Quality and reliability as standard

Powerline’s range of super-silent, and synchronised generator sets are hand-picked, or purpose-built for use on Outside Broadcasts, and are maintained to the highest possible standards by our team of specialists.

Powerline’s bespoke ultra-silent, truck-mounted twinsets are the pride of our fleet, and have amassed a prestigious résumé that includes supplying power to –

  • On-site Scanner, Uplink and Graphics trucks at broadcast compounds throughout the UK, for the busy Premier League football season.
  • Electronic News Gatherings (ENG’s) on the BAFTA’s star-studded red carpet, alongside our power supply for outdoor lighting, sound and video.
  • Live TV and Radio broadcasts of the Royal British Legion’s “Silence in the Square” Armistice Day observations, to both National, and British Forces Broadcast Services (BFBS) networks.

Royal and State Event Power

Proudly supported by Powerline

Powerline’s supply of specialist OB-ready equipment, is supported by our team’s familiarity with the challenges posed on some of the UK’s biggest Broadcast projects of this millennium.

Located between Buckingham Palace and Clarence House, Canada Gate plays host to the broadcast compounds for major Royal media events, to which Powerline – alongside our broadcast partners – have been honoured to provide our expertise, and on-location services.

For the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (2011); Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee (2012); and the births of Prince George (2013) and Princess Charlotte of Cambridge (2015), Powerline planned, installed, and maintained the required power systems across substantial compounds supplying both home and foreign broadcasters. In the case of the royal births, Powerline also delivered and maintained electrical supplies for press areas outside St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington.

With an estimated audience of 24.5 million people in 180 countries, The Royal Wedding saw Powerline handle a total of eleven 550kVA generators, producing approximately 7000kVA of synchronised broadcast power, which was allocated to the compounds across two custom mains distribution rooms.

When the world is watching, Powerline delivers.
