February 2010 saw the first outing for our new specialised twin set. Designed in house, built by local companies and our in house team, the truck meets our own demanding specifications for Broadcast Standards of quietness and reliability. Two F.G. Wilson generators (utilising Perkins engines) run as a synchronised pair. The outlet panels range from Powerloc to 16a with switchable/variable RCD's on most feeds. The trucks list of credits was kick started with a weekend of glitz powering the media uplinks at the BAFTA's, a televised soccer match for S4C and a product launch for Ben & Jerry's in Leicester Square. The new truck compliments our current fleet of purpose built twin sets, extending the range from 350KVa twin down to the new 110KVa twin. The benefit of the purpose built twin trucks is that an entire job arrives in one vehicle, is easily set up, looks tidy and can be packed away quickly. Powerline EcoPower is here, more and more the organisers of events are seeking to sharpen their green credentials, so we have developed a solution that will assist. Utilising both Solar and Wind technologies our product is designed to load share with a generator. Using a bank of heavy duty battery cells and some clever gadgetry we reduce the load on the generator, thus reducing fuel consumption. The package whilst modest at present is designed to be expandable. As lighting becomes more focused on LED's and sound systems grow deafeningly more efficient then EcoPower will find it's role growing. Trials over November and December at Westonbirt Arboretums' Illuminated Trail proved to be a hit with Client and Public alike. The futures bright, the futures GREEN!
